From Forests to Fjords - Our Epic New Zealand Road Trip

We embarked on a 3-week long trip to New Zealand this December. Kiwiland was calling us with its summer allure and we were ready with a well-planned itinerary and confirmed bookings. Mind you, NZ is a popular tourist hotspot during Christmas and no plan is early enough to get your preferred slots for the activities you desire to do.

Let's start with the itinerary for our 3-week long road trip:

North Island Itinerary:

We stayed in AirBnBs all throughout our stay in North Island and had booked these accommodations way ahead some 4-6 months in advance. Flight tickets were obviously booked in advance and reservations were also done ahead of time for:

1) All golf clubs

2) Waiheke island ferry

3) Waitomo Glowworm Cave Tour

4) Hell's Gate Experience

5) Maori Cultural Experience

6) Hobbiton

Try to squeeze in 3-4 hours for Hobbiton from Cambridge or block an entire day if you are going to travel from Auckland. It is such a popular tour that we could not get our choice of dates even after booking in advance. We had to return to Auckland to be able to visit our cherished Hobbiton on our way back home.
