Lynn Canyon Park and Suspension Bridge, North Vancouver
Lynn Canyon Park
We visited the popular Lynn Canyon Park last weekend, which is situated in East of North Vancouver. It is an amazing park to spend some quality time in a great natural outdoor setting.
The entrance is free but the parking is paid between March to October in the peak season. They charge $3/hour with a maximum permissible parking time of 4 hours. However, inspite of being charged for, the parking definitely is a problem on weekends with hordes of crowds visiting the park. It took us around 20-25 minutes to find parking. So plan your time accordingly if you are planning to visit on weekends.

The Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge
From the parking lot, we reached the cafe and headed east. The park truly begins after crossing the suspension bridge. The Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge is quite popular with the locals and tourists alike and gives a good view of the river and the canyon beneath it. The bridge is not too long but gives the thrills with its swaying movements. But man, it was again heavily crowded. This attraction too is free for all, including your pets provided they are on leash.
The 30 Foot Pool
Once we crossed the bridge, the crowds waned into the vast forest ahead of us and we could truly enjoy ourselves from hereon. From the bridge, we turned left and took the first trail there. We walked for about 10-15 minutes to reach the 30 Foot Pool. Set in a rocky backdrop, the pool is just beautiful for urban dwellers like me.
The water in the pool was crystal clear but was very cold for me. However, my 2-year-old nephew was not to be daunted. He spent a good 30 minutes enjoying the water amidst the crowd.
Although we could not cover the entire park due to paucity of time, we thoroughly enjoyed our excursion here. One can easily spend an entire day here with the numerous trails and hikes the park has to offer. A must-visit attraction when in Vancouver.
