A beautiful walking path…

Filled with walkers, joggers ,couples, kids and old alike, Devarabisanahalli lake is an oasis in the midst of all the urban development in the south-eastern suburb of Bellandur. The walkway is about 1 km in circumference and is lined with flowers and shrubs all along it. The walkway is not concretised completely and is an evenly laid out mud path at many places and that’s the best thing I like about it. It gives a natural feel to the surroundings, a feeling which gets lost in all the urbanisation of a place. Some 30,000 fishes were released in the lake just before the pandemic. Hope they are well and still thriving. The lake attracts a variety of birds too in its habitat. A small fountain in the midst of the lake completes its charm.

It is maintained spectacularly clean and is an ideal spot for your morning/evening walks. An open-air gym and a few benches along the walkway make it convenient for all – the fitness enthusiasts as well as the elderly citizens who frequent the lake.

No, it is not a picnic spot so please take care that you don’t litter it. Its cleanliness is as alluring as its natural beauty. 🙂

Lake Restoration

The lake has obviously been bearing the brunt of all the urbanisation around it. The loss of natural habitat around it might dry it up in the near future. I am hoping the authorities are doing their best to rejuvenate the lake and maintain this green lung space in the suburb. We citizens too need to do our bit by following the rules and regulations in place.

Nearby Attraction

The lake is close to The Bay of the RMZ Ecoworld, a good place to hang out, eat, drink and be merry.
